Liz Carlile is a communications advisor to the SSI. Currently Director of Communications at IIED, Liz has worked as a consultant to a range of development and research organisations - IDS, Progressio, FOE, IFRTD, IT Publications, People in AID and others - on communications strategy, implementation and mentoring.
Jackie Daitchman, SSI Research
Jackie is a member of the SSI research team. Prior to joining the SSI, Jackie worked in Lima Peru as an intern with La Junta Nacional del Café de Perú. Jackie also worked as a marketing intern for an organic fertilizer company and promoted corporate social responsibility and sustainable trade through on campus involvement at her university.
Jane Earley, Chair of the Advisory Panel
Jane Earley is the SSI's advisory panel chair. She is an international trade attorney whose consulting firm specializes in food safety and environmental standards. In addition to the SSI, Jane is working on standards for agricultural carbon credits, and on efforts to address sustainable agriculture and biofuels in the American standards and trade context.
Jessica van der Meer, SSI Research and Writing
Jessica is a member of the SSI research team. She is an IISD Consultant and has researched and co-authored papers on global value chains in the coffee and cocoa sectors. Prior to joining IISD and the SSI, Jessica worked for the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment, promoting responsible investment in emerging and developing markets.

Ulrich is an SSI coordinating partner and the Head of Trade and Sustainable Development Section at UNCTAD.
Jason Potts, International Institute for Sustainable Development
Jason Potts is an SSI coordinating partner. Jason manages the Sustainable Markets and Responsible Trade (SMART) Program at the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD). Jason has published on competition policy, commodity policy, and the relationship between corporate social responsibility, private standards and sustainable trade. Jason is Coordinator and co-founder of the Sustainable Commodity Initiative (SCI) and President of the Finance Alliance for Sustainable Trade (FAST).
Aimee Russillo, SSI Project Development Coordinator
Aimee Russillo is the SSI's project development coordinator. Aimee specializes in management services that include project management, impact monitoring & evaluation systems, strategic and business planning and sustainability assessments - including CSR reports. Clients include United Nations Foundation, PUMA AG, Rainforest Alliance, Forest Stewardship Council, UNCTAD/IISD, ISEAL, Center for Ecotourism and Sustainable Development, FairCraft.
Kathleen Sexsmith, SSI Research
Kathleen is a part of the SSI research team. She is an IISD Associate and has researched and co-authored a recent publication that focus on assessing the potential and actual impacts of select voluntary sustainability standards with regards to participatory decision-making within global value chains in the coffee, forestry and fisheries sectors.

Bill Vorley, International Institute for Environment and Development
Bill Vorley is an SSI coordinating partner. Currently Head of the Sustainable Markets Group for IIED, his expertise ranges from agrifood systems, agribusiness, supermarkets, to trade and agriculture. His current focus is research into small-scale farmer access to dynamic markets; market structure and the future of family farming.
